Sponsorship Agreement Holders (SAHs)

Sponsorship Agreement Holders (SAHs) are established organizations that have signed an agreement with the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship. To become a SAH member, an organization must be incorporated under federal or provincial law and assume full responsibility and liability for all sponsorships signed under its agreement.

CAIR is not a member of the Sponsorship Agreement Holder (SAH), however, we are in the process of becoming a SAH membership holder. Meanwhile, CAIR works with local SAH members in Manitoba to secure several PSR sponsorships. SAH membership will enable us to regularly sponsor refugees and organize our operations to ensure that we have the resources available to support all sponsorships signed under our agreement.

As a co-sponsor, we will sign the sponsorship undertakings along with the SAH member to bring refugees to safety. As a SAH's co-sponsor, we also provide assistance to applicants, such as offering connection to pre-arrival information on the settlement process and post-arrival counselling, orientation, and many other settlement services.

Our services include but are not limited to:

  • Offering workshops, info sessions and training for sponsoring groups
  • Preparing and submitting applications and supplementary documents for sponsors and refugees
  • Offering resources for sponsors and refugees, including Pre-Arrival and Post-Arrival support services
  • Connecting sponsoring group with other resources and settlement organizations
